"Sculptor Timothy Lloyd has a unique approach to art. He is known for encompassing both a grand talent with a sometimes-whimsical sense of humor. His sculptures are varied in subject matter, style and approach. His work combines classical and contemporary themes and is a testament to the fact that with his individual style he has an ability to capture just the right mood -- serious or whimsical, thoughtful or playful. Timothy’s works are a blend of fine lines, bold textures and exquisite craftsmanship. He has created a series of food and wine related bronzes, which are the culmination of 17 years in the winemaking business and more than 20 years as a sculptor.

"Many of Tim's sculptures are in the private collections and estates of such world-renowned chefs as Julia Child and Jacques Pepin, as well as many wine-industry luminaries, including the late UC Davis enology program founder Maynard Amerine and famous american wine pioneer Richard Graff, to name a few.

"Since 1985 his pieces have been awarded annually to honorees of the internationally acclaimed San Luis Obispo Central Coast Wine Classic.

"Timothy earned a Bachelor of Science degree in art and design with a specialization in three-dimensional art in 1982 from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo. He lives and creates in the historic town of Arroyo Grande on California's Central Coast.

"Among Tim's most notable accomplishments is the eight-foot-tall bronze Cellarman, commissioned by and installed in front of the corporate headquarters of the Chalone Wine Group in Napa."

Archie McLaren - Founder and Executive Director, San Luis Obispo Central Coast Wine Classic.
